On 15 April 2026, the Government of Jharkhand organised a state-level workshop on how hospitals can adopt the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). The aim was to help both government and private hospitals put ABDM into practice — not just in principle, but in their day-to-day operations.
Purnank Software was invited to present its Hospital Management System (HMS) to the participants.
Why ABDM matters for hospitals
ABDM is building the digital foundation for healthcare in India. It gives every citizen an ABHA health ID and lets health records move securely between hospitals, labs and patients — with the patient's consent.
For a hospital, joining ABDM means more than registering on a portal. Registration, consultations, lab reports, prescriptions and discharge summaries all need to be captured digitally and linked to the patient's health ID. That is where the hospital's software makes the difference.
What we presented
Our presentation showed how the Purnank HMS works to ABDM standards while making hospital operations simpler and better organised. The key points were:
- Simple ABDM integration — a clear, step-by-step path to becoming ABDM-ready, without disrupting existing workflows.
- Smooth management of digital health records — patient records are created, stored and shared digitally, linked to their ABHA ID.
- Faster, easier daily operations — registration, OPD, billing, lab and pharmacy work together in one connected system.
- Data management that follows government guidelines — patient data is handled in line with ABDM and government requirements.
A useful day for everyone
The workshop was informative and practical for all participants. Beyond the presentations, discussions explored new opportunities in digital healthcare — and what hospitals across Jharkhand need to take the next step.
